Removing the stock air inlet system
a) Before removing any of the O.E. components, label each individual part so that no components become mixed up during the installation process. There is a Ventilation Hose, an Intake Air Temp. Sensor, Purge Solenoid Valve, and a Mass Air Flow Sensor (MAF). Refer to the following diagrams for the identification of these components.
b) Disconnect the Ventilation Hose from the Air Hose.
c) Remove the Purge Solenoid Valve from the Air Hose.
d) Loosen the two clamps that secure the Air Hose to the Throttle Body and the MAF Sensor, and remove the Air Hose.
e) Disconnect the MAF Sensor and Intake Air Temp Sensor wires.
f) Loosen the 2 Air cleaner clips and remove the Air Cleaner Cap, MAF Sensor, and Intake Air Temp Sensor.
g) Separate the MAF Sensor from the Air Cleaner Cap, by loosening the two 10 mm bolts. (Make a note of which end of the MAF is the inlet side.) (Fig. 2)
h) Separate the Air Temp Sensor and it’s rubber grommet from the Air Cleaner Cap.
i) Loosen the two 10 mm bolts holding the Lower Air Cleaner Assembly, and remove it.
j) Remove the Fresh Air Duct by loosening the two 10 mm nuts on either side of the radiator.
k) Remove the Resonance Chamber by loosening the two 10mm bolts

Installing the Short Ram Air Intake System
a) When installing the Short Ram Air Intake System, DO NOT completely tighten the hose clamps or mounting tab hardware until instructed to do so later in these instructions.
b) Check to see that the inside of the AEM inlet pipe and air filter are clean and free from any obstructions.
c) Install the 2.50” coupler onto the throttle body using a No. 40 hose clamp.
d) Install one No. 40 hose clamp onto the other end of the coupler.
e) Slide the 2.50” curved Short the supplied Ram Tube onto the coupler, with the nipple facing upwards. (Fig. 4)
f) Using flat washer, bolt the Purge Solenoid Valve to the bracket on the first Short Ram Tube. (Fig. 4)
g) Install the 2.50”/2.75” adapter coupler onto the exposed end of the first short ram tube, secure with a No. 40 clamp.
h) Slide the outlet end of the MAF Sensor into the reducer coupler, and secure it with a No. 44 hose clamp.
i) Install the rubber grommet for the Air temp sensor into the ¾” hole in the straight short ram pipe.
j) Remove the 12mm bolt that secures the wiring bracket to the engine. (Fig. 3)
k) Install the second short ram tube onto the MAF Sensor as shown using a 2.75” coupler and two No. 44 clamps, so that the bracket lines up with the bolt hole in the engine, and reinstall the bolt removed in step i.
l) Install the AEM air filter on the second short ram tube using a No. 44 clamp
m) Install the air Temp sensor in the rubber grommet.
n) Install the valve Cover Breather hose onto the nipple in the first Short Ram pipe

Re-assemble the vehicle
a) Position the pipe for best fitment. (Fig. 4)
b) Check that the AEM pipe and filter are not touching any part of the vehicle.
c) Check for proper hood clearance.
d) Re-adjust pipes if necessary.
e) Tighten all hose clamps, and the mounting bracket bolt.
f) Re-connect the wiring harness to the MAF Sensor and Air Temp Sensor.
g) Inspect the engine bay for any loose tools and check that all fasteners that were moved or removed are properly tight.
h) Start engine and perform a final inspection before driving the vehicle.
