Tools Required:
Medium slotted screwdriver, and
small flat-head screwdriver.
If we have everything that’s needed to do the install, ……let’s get started!
1) By firmly grabbing the gear shift trim ring with your fingers, gently pull up on the back edge of trim panel. This will release the front edge from above the panel
A) Grab the gear shift trim panel firmly with both hands and pull up.
B) Lift up the gear shift console trim panel. Once it is lifted away move it slightly.
2) Slowly pull this control panel away from the dash console.
CAUTION: Be very careful with that delicate ribbon cable!!!
3) Remove two outside screws from the exposed cavity securing the bottom of BOSE stereo mounting bracket.
*NOTE: During removal, loosening the ‘white box’ below the car stereo with white ribbon cable, - it is necessary to move this slightly before the final HU removal process. CAUTION: Be careful with that very delicate ribbon cable!!!
*NOTE - During this HU removal, you must loosen the ‘white box’ below the BOSE car stereo that has a white ribbon cable attached, will need to be moved slightly for the final Head Unit removal process.
4) Remove the rubber mat from the bottom of the Navigation cubby hole.
5) Remove the two screws (shown) that hold the Navigation Hatch door closed.
