The recommended push beam height for this undercarriage assembly is 10-1/2″ from the center of the push beam to level ground. DO NOT exceed 12-1/2″ in height for this undercarriage.
WARNING: Always perform vehicle undercarriage installations with the keys removed from the vehicle’s ignition. Properly tag the ignition switch to alert others work is being performed on the vehicle. Most newer trucks are equipped with driver and passenger’s side air bags. DO NOT remove, disable, or reposition any sensory equipment related to the safe operation of the air bags.
1. Remove the fascia, tow hooks and tow hook mounts permanently. On models with a skid plate, also remove the skid plate and skid plate mounts.
2. Remove the grill and loosen the bumper. Disconnect the light harness wires and then finish removing the bumper.
3. Remove the bumper brackets and headlight assemblies.
4. Bend the rodnuts (Ref 6) so they will reach the rear mount holes inside the frame. Insert the rodnuts though the slots in the bottom of the frame 10 inches in front of the rear holes. Secure with bolts (Ref 14) and washers (Ref 15). Finger tighten the fasteners until all undercarriage parts are in place.
5. Position hanger plates (Ref 7 &
between the bumper brackets and frame on the outside of the truck frame rail. Secure top front holes with bolts (Ref 9) and washers (Ref 10). NOTE: Each hole contains a welded nut on the inside of the truck frame rail.
6. Mount the pushbeam (Ref 1) square with the bottom of each hanger plate using bolts (Ref 11), washers (Ref 12) and nuts (Ref 13). NOTE: There are two pushbeam mounting holes on the hanger plates to accommodate the different tire sizes available. Use the correct holes to get the correct measurement from the ground. Torque the pushbeam hardware according to specifications.
7. Level the pushbeam with the floor and tighten the hanger plate hardware according to torque specifications
8. Replace the turn/run bulbs in our auxiliary turn signal lights. NOTE: Due to the low voltage/amperage draw of LED’s, two (2) LED bulbs are provided in light adapter kit 62199 to replace the turn/run bulbs.
9. Connect the light adapter from the snowplow headlights into the connectors on the vehicle wire harness. Replace the headlight assemblies.
10. Replace the bumper brackets, bumper and grill. Reconnect the light harnesses.
11. Position the Light Tower into the mount pockets on the push beam. Each pocket has a lock pin that secures both light tower arms. Pull out and twist each ring handle to temporarily unlock the pins. Place the light tower into the pockets and relock the pins. Mount each Plow Headlight to the light tower with the hardware kit provided.
12. Adjust both lights with the plow in the raised position.
