Preparing Vehicle
a. Make sure vehicle is parked on level surface.
b. Set parking brake.
c. If engine has run in the past two hours, let it cool down.
d. Disconnect all negative battery terminals.
e. Jack up front of the vehicle and place on properly rated jack stands.
f. Remove driver’s side fender liner.
g. Do not discard stock components after removal of the factory system.
Removal of stock system
a. Stock intake system.
b. Free differential breather hose from inlet tube, if equipped. Use a supplied zip tie to secure the hose to the brake booster tube.
c. Pull the crankcase breather hose from the valve cover.
d. Loosen the two hose clamps on the ends of the inlet pipe. Remove the inlet pipe from the vehicle.
e. Free the clips that secure the mass air flow (MAF) sensor wiring harness. Unplug the MAF sensor.
f. Remove the upper air box after first removing the bolt.
g. Loosen the screws that secure the MAF sensor. Carefully remove the MAF sensor.
h. From inside the fender well, remove the two bolts that secure the lower air box. Then remove the lower air box from the vehicle.
i. Unclip the two wiring harness connectors and move them two places lower.
