1. Layout all parts and check quantities against the Bill of Materials. Completely read instructions before beginning installation.
2. Jack the front of the vehicle in accordance to manufacturer recommendation and support with jack stands, so that the front two tires are off the ground
3. Remove the front tires/wheels.
4. Disconnect the steering linkage and push forward, out of way.
5. Remove sway bar bracket bolts, allowing sway bar to drop (Fig. 1).
6. Remove upper ball joint nut and remove spindle from upper A-arm.
7. Remove upper strut nuts on the strut tower (3) on each side of vehicle that holds strut assembly to the strut tower
(Hint: Leave one nut on to prevent the strut from dropping out in the next step.)
8. Remove lower strut bolt from the lower control arm and remove the strut assembly from vehicle. (Note the direction of the bolt for reinstallation) (Fig. 2).
CAUTION: THE STRUT ASSEMBLY WILL DROP A LITTLE
9. Compress the coil spring on the strut assembly with a wall mounted coil spring compressor and remove the upper strut isolator mount nut.
10. Remove the compressed coil spring assembly from the strut.
11. Remove the OE coil spring isolator from the strut mounting plate.
12. Remove the 3 pressed in studs on the upper strut isolator mount and install the supplied 10mm bolts. Do not thread the nut on at this time.
Note: Installing the lower OPTIONAL coil spring isolator will give another ½ inch of lift
13. Replace the OE or optional coil spring isolator to the upper strut mounting plate.
14. Reinstall the compressed coil spring onto the strut assembly and re-attach the upper strut mounting plate.
15. Decompress the coil spring in the strut assembly. Make sure that the spring is seated correctly into the strut assembly alignment spiral.
16. Slide the Top Spacer onto the strut assembly over the new 10mm bolts (Fig. 4).
17. Install the strut assembly into the strut tower and start the upper three 10mm nuts (Fig. 5). (Make sure that the bottom of the strut is aligned as well)
18. Install the lower strut bolt in the original position that it was removed.
19. Using the floor jack, raise the lower control arm and connect the upper ball joint on the upper control arm to the spindle. Torque per OEM specifications.
20. Reconnect the sway bar end links. Torque per OEM specifications.
21. Install the front tires/wheels.
22. Lower the vehicle onto the ground and tighten the upper strut tower nuts. (3 on each side)
23. Torque all bolts to factory specifications. Re-torque all bolts after 500 miles.
