I slid and hit a curb on my rear driver’s side wheel and now it’s all bent out of shape. Is it going to cost me an arm and a leg to fix?
Ans: If you just bent the rim a few bucks to any tire shop will do the trick. If the axle is bent you are looking at about $100 for a new one and $60 for a rebuilt one. On top of that add at least $200 in labor. That is assuming the drum/caliper and rotor (not familiar with your break system) were not damaged in the process. Best case scenario $40 for a used rim, worst case is about $500 to $800 if you banged it up pretty good.
- Depends. need to buy a new rim, check ebay. hopefully all else is well. probably so. it does not have an axle in the back by the way. worst case your bearings are shot but I doubt it. get the new wheel and then balance it u should be fine. wheel- $50-$125, balancing- $5-20.
