I have a 1995 chevy 4×4 3/4 ton with a 5 speed manual i cant seem to figure out how to determine what kind of transmission i have.
- It is an NV4500. If your swapping it out for another, keep in mind that Dodge also used an NV4500, but they are different than the GM NV4500. The muncie used in GM trucks was only a 4-speed (the Getrag 5spd was found in late 80’s GM cars on 4 and 6 cyl motors), and the Getrag used in trucks was an early Dodge 5-spd tranny.
- On your trans there will be a metal tab with id #’s give that info to your local chevy dealer parts dept. they will be able to tell you. It’s going to be a Muncie either Getrag or New Process.
What kind of 5 speed manual transmission comes in a 1995 chevrolet c/k 2500 4×4?
